Every part of a Silentias product is chosen. The dimensions, the material, the adhesive, the testing. Nothing here is inherited from a catalog.
Every decision is made twice. Once for what works, and again for how it feels.
Each one is designed the way it would be if you were making it for yourself.
Part One
Who Silentias is, and how we work
Silentias is a sleep and wellness brand. We make a small number of products for the hours before sleep, and we would rather make few things carefully than many things quickly.
Three rules hold across everything Silentias makes.
Every ingredient is disclosed. Not the ones that sound appealing. All of them. If it touches your skin, you can read about it before you buy.
Nothing is claimed beyond what a document supports. If a test was not run, we do not imply it was. If a result applies to a material rather than a finished product, we say so.
Materials are tested by independent laboratories, not by us.
Part Two
The Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip
Everything in this section refers to the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip, our first product and the one most people come here for.
What the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip is
A strip worn over the lips through the night
The Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip is placed over the lips before sleep to keep the mouth gently closed through the night, and removed in the morning.
It is a comfort product for adults who choose to sleep with their mouth closed. That is what it is, and that is what it was made to do well.
What the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip does not claim

- The Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip does not treat snoring.

What is inside the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip
Four ingredients, all disclosed
- White viscose cotton, the soft and breathable surface
- A silicone-based adhesive, gentle on sensitive skin, lifting away without pulling
- Glycerin, a humectant valued for the way it holds moisture
- Hyaluronic acid
Free from latex, parabens, fragrance, hormones and colorants.
The strip is white because white is what it was before anyone touched it. No dyes, no pigments, no tint.
A color would have meant adding a dye, and a dye is one more chemical spending eight hours against your lips. For the sake of a shade nobody sees in the dark, it was not worth asking that of your skin. So the list stayed short, and the strip stayed clean.
No one requires a brand in this category to publish its ingredients. We publish ours because something that rests on your skin for eight hours should be something you can read about first.
How the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip is made
Where it comes from
The Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip is produced in a facility registered with the United States Food and Drug Administration and certified to ISO 13485, the quality management standard written for medical device manufacturing.
Registration and certification apply to the facility and its quality systems. They are not approval, clearance, or endorsement of the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip by the FDA, and we do not present them as such.
What has been tested on the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip
Independent laboratory results
The material used in the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip was tested by SGS, an independent international testing laboratory.
- Skin irritation: none observed
- Skin sensitization: none observed
- Cytotoxicity: none
The material has also been tested and found free from heavy metals, phthalates, brominated substances and bisphenol A.
How to use the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip
Four steps, the same every night
- Cleanse and dry the lips
- Press gently and hold for fifteen seconds
- Breathe deeply and drift into rest
- Peel off softly upon waking
Caution, and who the Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip is not for
Knowing when not to use it
The Silentias Hydrating Sleep Strip is not for everyone, and knowing when not to use it is part of using it well. Please read this before your first night.
- For external use only.
- Do not use if you have nasal obstruction or congestion, a respiratory condition, or any difficulty breathing through your nose.
- Do not apply to broken, irritated, or damaged skin.
- A patch test is recommended for sensitive skin.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or for anyone under eighteen.
- Avoid use after alcohol or sedatives, or if you are otherwise impaired or unable to remove the strip independently.
- Remove the strip immediately if breathing through your nose becomes difficult at any point in the night.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store in a cool, dry place.

What the Silentias Tin is
Where the Sleep Strips live
The Silentias Tin is made of tinplate steel. It holds the strips and keeps them clean, dry and out of the light until you use them.
What has been tested on the Silentias Tin
Safe for what goes inside it
A strip rests against the inside of this tin for weeks before it ever touches your lips. That is the only reason the tin was tested at all, and it is why it was held to a standard written for food rather than for storage.
The Silentias Tin was tested by an independent laboratory against European food-contact standards, which are stricter than anything a storage case is required to meet.
- Sensory testing for odor and taste: passed. Nothing in the tin transfers a smell or a taste to what it holds.
- Heavy metal migration: passed
- Overall migration across five food simulants: passed
The coatings used on The Silentias Tin were separately tested and found free from bisphenol A.
The Silentias Tin is a storage case and is not intended for food.
